interior design: light fixtures

Hey guys! Today I’m going to share some of my favorite lighting fixtures with you, because I love, love, love light. My dream home is white and gold with lots of plants, but above all, I want there to be light. Tons and tons of light streaming in through all the windows and warm light radiating from whatever ceiling fixture I decide to hang (currently, I’m liking a row of simple gold-dipped lightbulbs). Because of this, looking for lighting really interests me, and I’ve decided to share my top picks as of right now for bringing light to any room.

interior design trend: animal hides

Animal hides have been popping up everywhere lately, perhaps most noticeably on chairs and ottomans. Personally, I love it- it just looks so cozy and warm to me. For those who aren’t as inclined to buy real hides or fur, there are many great faux fur pillows and ottomans out there that aren’t too hard to find (the cowhide ottoman below is actually a pattern printed on fabric!).

I’m obsessed with how fluffy the rolling desk chair from PBTeen is, and I’m determined to have a cow or zebra hide rug in my house some day…I think they look especially cool in a somewhat minimalist room with white walls and lots of plants. While animal hides have typically been confined to the ground, it’s becoming very trendy to upholster furniture with them or even use them as bedding! I’m super excited about this trend. Let me know what your opinions are in the comment box below.

interiors: simple spaces

I’m obsessed with interior design. It’s bad. I have 652 pins on my home board on pinterest (which you can find HERE). As of right now, one of my favorite trends is what I call a “simple” interior, which consists of mainly white walls, gold accents, terra cotta, and lots of plants and succulents. I’ve compiled images of my favorite simple spaces below!

favorite shop: earthbound trading company

Typically, when I find a shop that I love, I latch onto it, buy a ton, and tell just about everyone how obsessed I am with it, and Earthbound Trading Company is no different. The closest one to my house is about a 20 minute drive, and due to the fact that I grew up (am growing up?) in a town where everything is 10 minutes away at most, I consider that quite a hike. However, for Earthbound Trading Company, I would drive for an hour. Here are my absolute favorite products from them, in no particular order:

FOR THE HOME:

Okay, so if I’m being honest, their home section makes me weak in the knees, and I’ve certainly overindulged in this particular category in one of my many trips to their store. My bed is covered in pillows from them, I have all kinds of random things hanging on my walls, my desk is covered in their boxes and trinkets…it’s bad. But after looking at these pictures, I think you’ll understand why.
